original and intact american medical cold-rolled furniture sheet steel hospital room storage supply cabinet designed and fabricated by the american metal furniture company, indianapolis, ind. the multi-purpose compact storage cabinet retains the original heavy gauge folded and pressed steel detachable tabletop with white porcelain enameled "sani" finish. the cabinet contains a single pull-out or sliding drawer and oversized hinged cabinet door with faceted glass pull mounted against a yellow brass escutcheon. the original multi-faceted cabriole style legs are a nice addition to this finely crafted medical furniture piece. the brushed metal finish has been treated with a clear coat lacquer. salvaged from the old cook county hospital located in chicago, il. measures 20 x 16 x 33 1/2 inches.
