original c. 1920's american industrial laboratory workbench retort stand designed and fabricated by the chicago apparatus co., chicago, il. the stand features a weighted cast iron base with manufacturer markings in the form of lightly incised lettering. the single solid steel rod is equipped with a two-section holder consisting of the adjustable bracket that screws into a spring-loaded metal clamp that would hold beakers and test tubes. the bracket and clamp is comprised of iron, steel and yellow brass components. the entire scientific apparatus has been brushed down to bare metal and sealed with a clear coat lacquer. great for display purposes. the antique bottle is not included.
