original freestanding vintage industrial c. 1920's american brushed metal barbershop coat or hat rack manufactured by the emil j. paidar company, chicago, il. the central pole is supported by four matching outswept tubular steel legs tightly affixed in place with machine screws. the upper portion or "rack" features four matching oversized double cast iron hooks fastened on each side of the pole. the tapered and turned finial cap with "stepped" profile is original and intact. measures 68 inches in height.
