cleaned and brushed c. 1940's american industrial single electric railroad trouble light designed and fabricated by the pyle-national company, chicago, il. the heavy duty reinforced industrial lamp was likely used in a train yard, either as a signal light or perhaps as a source of illumination in and around the train yard. the fixture is designed for both interior and/or exterior used. the cast metal body has been brushed down to bare metal and sealed with a clear coat lacquer. the steel wire cage is affixed to the body with multiple bent steel straps or brackets. the interior contains a white porcelain enameled reflector to greatly enhance the light source. the single weather-resistant ceramic socket is original and has been rewired. the pyle railroad light is mounted on a steel pipe with weighted cast iron base. the asking price does not include the stand (optional). measures approximately 8 1/2 x 6 1/2 x 13 inches.
