unique reinforced american industrial stationary workbench or desk containing pressed and folded steel bases or legs designed and fabricated by the lyon metal products company, aurora, ill. the vintage workbench has been outfitted with a solid oak wood tabletop consisting of recycled floor boards salvaged from a chicago area railroad boxcar. the off-center built-in module or storage cabinet contains a single shelf dividing the two open-ended compartments. the channeled steel bases with flared feet have been brushed down to bare metal and sealed with a clear coat lacquer. the solid oak wood cabinet has been stained to match (as closely as possible) the tabletop finish. the repurposed table or desk is structurally sound and stable. measures approximately 56 1/2 x 24 1/4 34 1/2 inches.
