pair of heavy duty american depression era c. 1930's original and intact interior factory belt drive line shaft ceiling-mount brackets designed and fabricated by the drive-all mfg. co., detroit, mich. the matching cast iron brackets with detachable couplers have been cleaned (i.e., painstakingly degreased) and brushed down to bare metal. a cleat coat lacquer was then applied to prevent surface corrosion. the two identical factory machine shop brackets were apart of an elaborate early belt-driven lathe machine system no longer in use. salvaged from a recently shuttered chicago area factory complex. drive-all manufacturing co. was started in 1932 by arthur haskell in detroit, mii. haskell designed a multi-speed gearbox to replace the variable speeds created by a belt drive. their business greatly expanded throughout the 20th and 21st century. priced for the pair. measures 13 x 4 x 15 inches
