a pair of original antique american industrial depression era numbers pressed and folded galvanized steel totes salvaged from a chicago area tool and die factory. a total of ten matching totes bearing an identical configuration are available. only a small portion contain the heavily worn stenciled black numbers. possibly fabricated by lyon metal products, inc., aurora, il. the galvanized steel totes were arranged on a large shelving unit by number and contained several "small parts" for use with the factory machinery. the two totes are identical in size and overall configuration. the single tubular steel bars or handles are tightly affixed to the opposed, pyramidal-shaped sides. the spacious compartments never contained dividers of any sort. the shopworn exteriors and interiors consistent with age. priced for the pair.
