exceptionally unique c. 1930's american industrial adjustable height stool fabricated by the kewaunee mfg. co., kewaunee, mi. the original "ever-hold" manufacturers tag remained largely intact on the underside of the seat. the distinctive faceted post supporting the seat contains a low-lying four-legged base with outstretched legs in a cross formation. the telescoping member or extension contains a multitude of closely spaced notches for achieving the desired height. the spacious seat and contoured backrest have been rebuilt. perhaps the most unusual feature is the primitive integrated footrest resting at a slight angle. the chair or stool is comprised largely of maple and oak wood. possibly designed by james a. campbell. the stool has been refinished and sealed with a clear coat lacquer. measures approximately 16 x 20 with an adjustable height ranging from 30 - 35 inches.
