largely intact c. 1922-25 american vintage industrial portable handheld "trouble light" designed ans patented by the oliver appliances co., chicago, il. the hangable single electric lamp guard retains the original weathered and worn oversized birch wood handle. the cage or guard is comprised of reinforced cast aluminum with traces of the original copper-plated finish. the protruding hook allows the industrial pendant light to be mounted upright in a variety of work settings. the cage consists of two sections with overlapping members held in place by the large swivel hook.
