largely intact early 20th century antique american metal wire oddfellows ceremonial costume face mask, likely fabricated by the demoulin bros., co., greenville, il. the original metal mesh mask features hand-painted facial features (e.g., mustache, eyes, etc.) applied directly to the wire. the head strap was lost long ago. a light gauge band of steel is used around the edges to uphold structural integrity. this type of fraternal mask was advertised as being highly desirable during summer months.
