very unique and unusual vintage american industrial heavy duty freestanding factory machine base comprised entirely of cast iron. the exact fabricator is not known. salvaged from an old steam gauge factory located in chicago, il. the refinished pedestal base contains a flared floor plate with pre-drilled holes for anchoring into the floor. very unusual profile with upper section bulge topped by a flared lip or rim with a multitude of screw holes. the interior cavity is hollow. contains deeply embossed manufacturer markings. measures 14 x 14 1/2 x 30 1/2 inches.
