pair of one of kind antique american industrial c. 1930's depression era solidly constructed american folk art open-palmed human hands replete with friction ridges, fingernails, knuckles and "life lines." the set of oversized artist hands are comprised of solid cast iron with a uniform, brushed metal finish sealed with a clear coat lacquer. when the hands were acquired the accumulated rust obscured the finely cast detailing. the wrists contain heavy gauge integrated steel eyelet hooks with three links of chain. the approximate time of fabrication is based loosely on the scant information given to us upon acquisition. unidentified sculptor. priced for the pair. measures 5 x 2 1/2 x 10 inches.
