all original highly unusual early 20th century minocqua courthouse building "birth and death certificates" front desk plaque and/or paper weight. the sign maker or fabricator is not known. the angled front desk sign contains a built-in easel back for stand alone purposes. the distinctive hand-applied shadowed lettering consists of gold leaf and black paint. hours of operations are posted at the very bottom. the sign plaque is comprised of solid oak wood. surface crazing, discoloration and general wear consistent with age. measures approximately 10 x 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 inches.
