original and lightly cleaned diminutive pressed and folded heavy gauge steel enclosed factory machine shop "220 volts" electrical box salvaged from a chicago textile factory undergoing demolition. the cold-rolled steel box or cabinet with hinged cover and recessed drop handle retains the original black enameled finish found inside and out. the distinctive hand-painted lettering remains intact, with discoloration and surface rust evident. the interior of the metal box contained multiple white ceramic fuse holders and knife switches. measures 12 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 4 inches.
