c. 1900's antique american outdoor park bench fabricated by the prominent e.t. barnum, wire & iron work co., detroit. dates to 1900-05. comprised entirely of riveted joint wrought iron with a contoured seat and backrest for added comfort. features a nicely distressed old metallic paint finish. barnum was founded by eugene t. barnum in 1866, with a small store on located on woodward avenue (detroit, mi.), making a few articles in ornamental wire work. the city park bench measures 72 inches in length. the height of the seat is 15 1/2 inches.
