original american art deco heavy gauge polished chrome plated steel freestanding carson pirie scott & co. department store rack designed and fabricated by the american fixture co., korrect-way div., st. louis, mo. the clothing or garment rack contains a disc-shaped weighted cast iron base supporting a single tubular steel post or upright that contains flanking arms for hangers. the endcaps are tightly secured to each arm. the original placard sign holder or bracket remains in great shape. the coat rack contains two incised "speed" rings with original baked black enameled accent at the top and bottom of the central post. great condition, considering age. measures approximately 30 x 17 (base diameter) x 74 inches.
