why hasn't anyone taken a stab at writing about "unearthing chicago?"

i discovered the book "unearthing gotham" in 2002, and have read and later reexamined various chapters of this remarkable and highly informative tomb well into 2014 - especially when we began finding ash pits and privies buried beneath the john kent russell house (1855-56).
i can't even begin to fathom the amount of buried remains from 19th century chicago and the wealth of information such finds would offer to historians about manufactured goods, living conditions, etc. the remnants found at the russell site alone have offered great insight into the everyday life of the property's inhabitants.
a similar book that perhaps, focuses on 19th century chicago before and after the great chicago fire would be incredibly interesting subject matter, especially with a catalog of artifacts discovered throughout the vastly different neighborhoods within the city.
an ideal catalog i would love to contribute to would contain thousands of well-documented and beautifully photographed artifacts dating from the days of chicago's first settlers to the turn of the century. granted, this is a highly subjective preference, but if i was to fund and ultimately assemble such a catalog, then i would likely use that time frame in chronological order.
