early 20th century original american adjustable desk or table reading lamp designed and fabricated by the bradley & hubbard manufacturing co., meriden, conn. the nicely aged or patinated cast and wrought brass lamp retains the original patented paravola-shaped reflector or shade. the weighted cast iron base is concealed by a slightly tapered pedestal base plate cover with lightly incised concentric rings. the pull-chain socket is affixed to single pivoting joint arm that sits atop a tubular post tightly secured to the base. the original knurled edge friction dial attached to the ball joint upholds the desired angle of the light source. the lamp has been rewired.
