all original early 20th century old industrial fully adjustable "faries" workbench machinist task lamp salvaged from a northwestern indiana foundry. the articulating lamp features a very distinctive ball-and-socket joint base comprised of cast iron components. features three threaded steel bolted joints, which control the clamping force (i.e., desired angle of the pole), achieved by applying torque to the bolt heads. the oversized yellow brass flexible gooseneck arm contains manufacturer markings in the form of lightly incised lettering. original yellow brass bryant key socket with patented uno fitter and green enameled "slim helmet" hubbell shade. the heavily insulated black rubber cord has likely added during the late 1920's. fabricated by the faries mfg. co., decautir, il.
