very unique repurposed vintage american industrial freestanding adjustable scissor arm bracket floor lap with a uniform black enameled finish. the extensible/retractable bracket arm featuring a plurality of interconnected and overlapping metal "link" arms was fabricated around 1915 by the chicago electric co., chicago, il. the stationary freestanding floor lamp contains a fanciful cabriole style cast iron four-legged base. the unique mcgill trouble light contains a finely turned hardwood handle with deeply incised rings. the fully enclosed steel cage or bulb guard contains a reflector and/or heat shield on one side and steel wire mesh on the opposite side. original green enameled finish remains largely intact. rewired with period appropriate braided rayon cloth cord. measures 65 x 24 inches.
