hard to find and exceptionally intact c. 1940's outdoor freestanding city of chicago "street cleaning" informational signicade issued by the bureau of sanitation, chicago, ills. the brightly colored red and yellow enameled metal adjustable a-frame or signicade was designed to be placed on the side of the street where cleaning was being performed. the adjustable "days of the week" round sign or rotating wheel is firmly attached to the backside of the sign. wear and tear from heavy and frequent use expected with age. the tubular steel frame supporting the sign remains structurally sound and stable. the streets and sanitation sign measures 38 by 30 inches.
