original c. 1880's antique american ornamental cast brass residential entrance door backplate designed and fabricated by branford lock works, branford, ct. the oversized rectangular-shaped doorknob escutcheon features a distinctive fanciful square collar and two keyhole openings with the "master" keyhole retaining the original swinging cover plate. exceptional designed pattern throughout. naturally aged surface patina left untouched. measures approximately 8 3/4 x 2 3/4 inches.
