well-maintained antique american four-legged stationary ice cream or soda fountain counter chair or stool designed and fabricated by the royal metal mfg. co., chicago, il. the stool is comprised largely of twisted and formed heavy gauge steel with the original oxidized copper-plated finish remaining largely intact. the weathered and worn wood seat is structurally sound and supported by multiple brackets mounted along the underside of the seat. the x-shaped brace or stretcher, along with the hooped feet provide added support and stability. measures approximately 13 x 13 x 32 1/2 inches.
