all original and completely intact early 20th century antique american varnished oak wood interior residential pier mirror or console. likely fabricated by or for the schroth & ahrens mfg. co., chicago, il. the quartered "tiger stripe" oak wood contains a dazzling grain pattern, providing added visual character. the crown is supported by two unadorned curved corbels or brackets. the large central mirror is flanked by two half-columns containing square block bases for displaying plants, etc. a smaller corbel is mounted directly beneath the projecting seat. salvaged from a chicago graystone built around 1901. measures 57 x 87 1/2 inches.
