early 1920's american art deco style ornamental cast brass chicago commercial building exterior thumblatch door handle designed and fabricated by the penn hardware company, reading, pa. the heavy yellow brass metal door handle contains two flush mount backplates or escutcheons adorned with a repeating bellflower design motif. the refinished handle has been darkened slightly with an oil rubbed metallic bronze enameled finish. fully functional and intact. measures 10 1/2 x 2 inches.
