original and largely intact 19th century american victorian era oversized leaded glass transom window salvaged from a chicago greystone residence built around 1889. the rectangular-shaped window features a visually striking "sun ray" design motif comprised of alternating strips of beveled edge and textured glass. the original weathered wood window sash frame is mostly intact with an old green paint finish. the textured or non-beveled edge glass contains a slightly tinted "sun purple" hue from prolonged exposure to the outdoor elements. the window was likely fabricated by the schuler & mueller co., chicago, il. measures 54 x 27 1/4 inches.
