completely intact and all original c. 1910-15 antique american industrial stationary double-pole garment and/or clothing rack designed and fabricated by or for the great western fixture works, chicago, il. the thoroughly cleaned and refinished freestanding garment rack contains a fanciful sturdy four-legged cast iron base with claw feet. the heavy gauge tubular steel post or upright is configured with two arms extending horizontally. each arm is equipped with the original endcaps. the brushed metal finish has been treated with a clear coat finish. the copper-plated finish remains largely intact. the store fixture was salvaged from a clothing department in the downtown chicago marshall field building. measures approximately 28 x 68 inches. a nearly identical garment rack from the same department store is available on the website. the top bar measures approximately 24 inches. the whole rack measures approximately 66 inches high.
