repurposed early 20th century american industrial two-tier stationary classroom student desk pedestal base side table with two equally-sized setback tiers. the cast iron pedestal base was designed and fabricated by the e.w.a. rowles co., chicago, il. the strong and sturdy iron base originally contained a seat and small desk. salvaged from a chicago public school. the base has been brushed down to bare metal and sealed with a clear coat lacquer. the newly added tabletop or tiers are comprised of old-growth recycled poplar wood with angled front edges. the industrial furniture piece makes for an ideal side table or nightstand. measures approximately 15 x 23 x 23 inches.
