late 1930's original american industrial heavy gauge cold-rolled steel four-legged factory stool likely designed and fabricated by lyon metal products inc., aurora, il. the refinished stool has been brushed down to bare metal and treated with a clear coat lacquer. the round seat with slightly sunken center is tightly affixed to the slightly flared angled steel legs. the welded joint stretchers doubling as a footrest provide added support and stability. the stool was salvaged from a recently shuttered chicago paint factory. seat height measures 23 1/2 inches.
