original and fully functional c. 1940's american industrial freestanding shop fan possibly fabricated by the general electric company, schenectady, ny. the stationary american art deco style mechanical fan is supported by a weighted three-legged cast iron base with integrated stepped ring center. the heavy gauge tubular steel post or upright contains a partially intact chrome plated finish. the triple-blade, riveted joint fan is made of lightweight aluminum with light pitting and wear evident. the large protective fan cage is comprised of solid steel rods arranged in concentric circles. the base has been brushed and sealed with a clear coat lacquer. the cord and plug are intact. measures approximately 68 inches high with the fan diameter of 20 inches.
