original c. 1950's vintage industrial folded and pressed steel "tool box" salvaged from an old chicago steam gauge factory. the faceted hinged top retains the original carrying handle consisting of two opposing bent steel rod clasps. the words "tool box" are prominently displayed (i.e., deeply embossed) above the two riveted joint hasps. fabricator not known. original worn and weathered metallic blue enameled finish largely intact.
