all original c. 1950's wall or ceiling mount wedge-shaped interior hospital building exit light likely fabricated by the western fluorescent light co., chicago, il. salvaged from the old grant hospital located in chicago. the double-sided illuminated fixture contains two matching baked enameled white with red letter glass insets or panels, housed within a brushed steel enclosure or "can." the interior contains a fully functional incandescent light source. general surface wear and discoloration consistent with age. measures 11 1/2 x 9 1/2 x 7 3/4 inches.
