all original late 1920's american art deco style doorknocker and matching peephole salvaged from a chicago apartment building demolished long ago. the rectangular-shaped backplate contains a hexagonal knocker mounted directly above the peephole. the top and bottom placard holders contained the apartment number and name of occupant. the hinged peephole cover retains the original latch with catch. both hardware components are comprised of cast brass with original nickel plated finish largely intact. exact fabricator unknown. measures 6 3/8 x 1 3/8 inches.
