original late 19th century american victorian era interior residential majolica tile surround. comprised of three section affixed to mortar and reinforced with steel mesh. tiles can be removed individually with ease if need be. the vibrantly colored tiles exhibit an allover crazed finish. unique floral motif inner border. the ornamental tiles within the frieze panel feature centrally located pinwheels surround by curvaceous scrolls. together, the surround measures 42 x 36 inches. manufactured by the trent tile co., trenton, nj. salvaged from a chicago graystone residence built around 1896.
