original c. 1915-20 american industrial railroad depot office countertop compartmentalized freestanding cabinet possibly fabricated by the fire-proof furniture & construction co., miamisburg, oh. the well-built cabinet contains a recessed panel quartered oak wood exterior that has a unique two-tone finish. the diminutive pressed and folded sliding steel filing drawers are divided into four sections with stationary wood strips. the drawers are slightly set back or recessed for use with a single lockable hinged cabinet door (removed long ago.). each and every drawer has been brushed down to bare metal and sealed with a clear coat lacquer. the integrated finger pulls and placard holders are original and intact. measures 12 x 26 x 30 inches.
