all original early 20th century vintage industrial american garment fitting dress-form designed and patented by sarah j. secord of graceville, minnesota. the freestanding form consists of several fully adjustable sections bound together with "metallic bindings." the fabric has faded with age, but remains free from excessive damage. the skirt form consists of a number of "tapes" or metal strips secured with metal hoops at regular intervals. the fanciful four-legged cast iron ornamental base has a baked black enameled finish. retains the original finely turned nickel-plated finial resting atop the base of the neck. the form was fabricated by the hall-borchert dress form co., new york city, new york. the small steel casters or rollers are original and intact. original label affixed to the torso. great overall condition, considering age.
