highly desirable early 20th century original and intact reinforced american industrial six-pane "chicken wire" sandwich glass factory complex stationary casement window fabricated by voigtmann & company, chicago, il. the solidly constructed industrial window contains a welded and riveted heavy gauge steel frame and muntins. the braided steel wire provided added security, prevented shattering. the windows also reduced the frequency and severity of injury if the window panes were broken by stabilizing broken shards within the wire mesh. multiple casement windows were salvaged from an old chicago paint factory constructed around 1905. the industrial window retains the original worn and weathered green paint finish. measures approximately 43 x 36 inches.
