c. 1905-15 original and largely intact american cast iron ornamental baseboard or wall heating register or grate cover with fanciful foliated scrollwork. the original surround containing the single louver was removed long ago. the panel contains a uniform black enameled finish. possibly fabricated by or for the hess warming & ventilating co., chicago, il. the pierced metal grille contains a classic grid configuration accentuated by foliated scrollwork located in each of the four corners. only one available. measures approximately 13 1/2 x 10 1/2 inches.
