c. 1900's original antique american ornamental cast bronze metal interior elevator cab or car call button push plate possibly fabricated by the elevator supply & repair co., chicago, il. the single-sided wall-mount backplate contains the words "up" and "down" surrounded by a simple bayleaf border. the two circular holes originally contained the push buttons used to signal the car to that floor. the nicely aged and mostly uniform surface patina was left intact. measures 8 x 3 inches.
