c. 1870's antique american ornamental cast bronze entrance door size residential doorknob designed and fabricated by the hopkins & dickinson mfg. co., new york city, ny. the largely unornamented doorknob contains a deeply recessed or sunken center with floral motif. the doorknob with a lightly incised banded rim first appeared in the 1879 hopkins & dickinson hardware catalog. mostly uniform surface patina. diameter 2-3/4".
