distinctive late 19th or early 20th century original american folk art interior rural church signboard or directory comprised of pine wood with a painted and varnished finish. the pyramidal top directory contains multiple open-ended slots for use with sliding hand-painted numbers (or letters) accessed on either end of the directory. the think pine wood blocks (included with the directory) are painted black with large white numbers. the single-sided directory retains the original varnished finish with black and metallic gold paint accent. the nicely aged church directory contains an allover crazed finish throughout. the four intersecting grooved boards are accentuated with "bullseye" rosettes. great overall condition, considering age. 24 1/2 inches x 2 1/4 inches x 46 1/4 inches.
