rare and all original intact antique c. late 1860's's vibrant honey amber glass ale jar fabricated for john lomax in chicago, il. the wide body and steep shoulders taper into a long neck with an applied collar and single ring. the glass is a light honey amber color, with appealing multi-colored patination or irridization from having been dug. the shoulder is embossed "j.a.l." for the bottler's initials. crudities are typical of its age and date of manufacture.
