repurposed american industrial boylston steam specialties factory stationary "pipe rack" bookshelf. the fully adjustable cast iron and steel pipe rack brackets and pipe were used in the old boylston steam specialties co. factory since around 1912. the heavily reinforced cast iron double arm brackets with two inch round opening, were manufactured by the western kicley co., chicago, il. the old growth pine wood shelves have been sanded down and refinished. the cast iron supports, bases and brackets have been thoroughly cleaned, brushed and treated with a clear coat lacquer.
