19th century american victorian era ornamental cast bronze pocket door escutcheon or backplate with rotating t-handle or lever. the c. 1870's "cup" handle was likely fabricated by the russell & erwin mfg. co., new britian, ct. nice and uniform surface patina. the backplate exhibits distinctive palmettes or anthemions, scrolls and beaded border. only one available. measures 5 1/8 x 2 5/8 inches.
