original and fully operable late 1940''s american vintage industrial telescoping "adjusrite" pressed and folded steel research laboratory stool with a circular steel swivel seat. the stationary stool features two relatively movable members combined or overlapping for telescopic movement, with one of the members secured to the seat of the stool and other member secured to the legs and/or base of the stool. the coacting movable members function in such a way to lock the seat at various selected positions. the four-legged bent tubular steel base retains the original welded joint heel or footrest. the steel disc "shoes" provide added support and stability. the slightly contoured pressed steel backrest is supported by two steel rods attached to the underside of the seat. structurally sound and stable. contains a green enameled finish. salvaged from an old cook county hospital laboratory. fabricated by the adjusto equipment co., bowling green, oh. the first incarnation was designed and patented by james a campbell in the early 1940's. seat height adjusts from 17 to 26 inches.
