early 20th century vintage american industrial factory machinist hand and/or machine cut number stamps fabricated by the young brothers stamp inc., muscatine, ia. the solid steel hand stamps were used for marking parts or tools with customized "signatures" in the form of lightly incised letters and/or numbers. the standard set of numbers (0-8) exhibit wear and tear from decades of use. original solid walnut wood block base contains evenly-spaced round holes for storing the stamps upright. the number stamp set was salvaged from an old chicago machine tool factory located north of chicago. variety of sets available.
