original c. 1891 ornamental cast brass interior office door programmed doorknob salvaged from the pontiac building during renovation in the 1980's. the fourteen story early chicago skyscraper was designed by the architectural firm of holabord and roche in 1891. the building was named after the ottawa chief who led a revolt against the british in 1763-64. the pontiac is one of the four oldest remaining skyscrapers in downtown chicago. constructed by the george a. fuller co. the doorknob was made by either reading or possibly the yale & towne mfg co. retains the original "antique copper" electroplated finish.
