original vintage american industrial solid cast bronze "general electric" manufacturer name plaque believed to have mounted on a late 1930's or possibly 1940's diesel-electric railroad locomotive engine. the oversized plaque was likely designed and fabricated by the general electric co., schenectady, n.y., u.s.a. retains the original black and red color scheme, in the form of enameled inlay. the electric locomotive plaque contains a multitude of holes for securing tightly against the engine or possibly generator. the centrally located monogrammed logo has changed little since inception. the original monogrammed circular logo was trademarked on september 18, 1900. measures 30 inches in length.
