exceptionally well-designed c. 1890's american art nouveau style ornamental cast iron brass-plated wall mount interior residential parlor tree coat and/or hat hook possibly fabricated by yale & towne or the sargent hardware company. the figural hook features a detailed mythical creature with the topmost hook shaped in the form of a scaly skin curvaceous tail. the oversized hall tree decorative hook contains a circular backplate with two opposed mounting holes. hard to find and highly sought after.
