massive early 20th century varnished oak wood two section interior residential built-in and/or china cabinet. salvaged from a chicago graystone residence built around 1900. the top cabinet with original crown molding features two ball finial hinged cabinet doors with a centrally located fixed or stationary glass pane. the beadboard and adjustable shelving has been left unpainted. the recessed beveled edge mirror remains intact. the two large flanking pilasters and petite columns are comprised of oak with gesso ornament. the bottom cabinet contains both pull-out drawers and doors with raised panels. the stamped metal hardware is known as the "como" pattern, made by the p. & f. corbin hardware co., new britain, ct. together, the cabinet measures 103 1/2 x 60 x 21 inches. manufactured by the john a. gauger & co., chicago, il.
